The Red Global MX Capítulo Japón invites students, recent graduates, and professionals in foreign language studies, language education, translation, linguistics, and related fields to join our team as volunteer translators. This opportunity is intended for individuals who are passionate about languages and intercultural communication, particularly those with bicultural backgrounds and proficiency in Spanish, Japanese, and English.
What We Offer
Meaningful Professional Experience: Collaborate remotely with a team of experienced professionals, leaders in their respective fields, and partner academic and government institutions. This experience will allow you to strengthen your professional profile and develop your skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Flexibility: This is a fully remote volunteer opportunity, offering flexible scheduling with a suggested commitment of three to four hours per week. However, we welcome greater involvement from those who wish to contribute additional time.
Training and Professional Development: While this is an unpaid volunteer position, we are committed to providing ongoing training in contemporary collaboration frameworks and best practices. Our goal is to ensure that your experience is both meaningful and beneficial to your professional growth.
Requirements
Native-level proficiency in Japanese or certification equivalent to JLPT N3 or higher, and/or
Native-level proficiency in Spanish or certification equivalent to CEFR C1 or higher, and/or
Native-level proficiency in English or certification equivalent to CEFR C1 or higher,
Previous experience or academic training in translation, linguistics, foreign language education, or related fields.
Ability to translate public relations materials, institutional documents, presentations, and proposals intended for Japanese and international organizations and institutions.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality translations.
Responsibilities
Translate written content from Spanish to Japanese and/or English, ensuring accuracy while preserving the original tone, style, and intent.
Work on public relations materials, institutional documents, presentations, and proposals intended for Japanese organizations and institutions.
Collaborate closely with the Communications Team to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality across all communications.
Time Commitment
Flexible schedule, with a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week.
Period: 6 months.
